The Lodge on Lake DuBay
Surrounded by birch trees and other native Wisconsin greenery, this home is on a two acre walk-out lot off Lake Dubay. The landscape matches the image one’s mind conjures of a home nestled in the woods. Every craftsmen/artist who worked on this project went above and beyond to create a work of art.
The ideal Wisconsin lifestyle is achieved with the relaxation opportunities on the spacious screened-in porch which is lit by the south sun, and the wood stove keeps at bay the late fall chill. This screened porch is also accented with an acid stained concrete floor. For those warmer evenings, the wrap-around covered porch offers the perfect setting to view wildlife and hear only the natural sounds. Both porches feel like an extension of the woods with stone and knotty pine walls, and a knotty pine ceiling.
Family and friends will be delighted to prepare meals in the kitchen while warmly enveloped by the wooded floor, handcrafted distressed cabinets, and built-in appliances.
When escaping leisurely to the great room, the fireplace, surrounded by real stone veneer and topped by a hand carved mantle, provides the perfect atmosphere for enjoying the sky-lit peacefulness.
And when it’s time for sleep, the main master bedroom stone wall complements the stone wall in the great room, and easy access is provided to the covered porch through the convenient sliding doors. In addition, the master bath provides the contemporary amenities one expects, such as a one-of-a-kind, uniquely created tile design, and in the huge roll in shower, one’s senses will be brought alive by the multiple, large shower heads and body sprays.
There are capstone qualities to this home that will set it apart from the rest and make your drive worthwhile. Besides the beauty, this house has the brawn. A whole-house backup generator will power the house in an electricity failure. In addition, a home security system provides the owners’ peace of mind. Every part of this home is wheelchair accessible—these discrete additions blend nicely into the home design. Finally, the whole house is integrated with cutting edge technologies: available in every room are advanced audio and video. Including the thermostat, all of this is controlled through any cell phone, in any location.
I would like to thank the homeowners, Dan and Patty Luessenhop, for allowing us to blend their vision and ours to create this true masterpiece. I would be proud to show you the work we did here on this one-of-a kind true Wisconsin home.
