My wife and I had been gathering reclaimed wood from our farm and others in our area for the past 8 years in the hopes of incorporating it all into our dream home one day. Hand hewn barn beams, rough cut barn beams, barn boards, antique shiplap, knotty pine grainery floor boards, hand notched oak floor joists, tamarack pole barn roof trusses. We had a rough idea of what we wanted but had no idea if any builder would want to bother with so much non-dimensional reclaimed lumber or if so much variety would even look good. After talking with Jon he assured us that he could do it. He definitely earned the "Custom Carpentry" in his title. Anytime we had one of our rough ideas of what we wanted, Jon would say " Let me think about it tonight." The next day he would come back with a complete plan on how to do it. Both Jon and Rebekah knew the style that we were going for and had great ideas on how to make our plan come together. Now we have a custom home that I never would have thought possible until talking to Jon. Jon and Rebekah were friends of ours before they built our house. They say that you shouldn't do business with friends and family but with the professionalism that both they and their crew exhibited, they are even better friends now than when we started.
We approached Jon late last fall to build our retirement home. We brought along a floor plan sketched on graph paper and a lot of ideas for our unique down-sized house. Jon approached every idea with a “we can do this” attitude. This was our first home build experience, and Jon and his wife Rebekah provided us much needed guidance along the way. They answered our many questions in a very timely manner. Jon’s attention to detail was impressive. We moved into our home late summer, earlier than we anticipated. Our new home is exactly what we imagined and even better! They helped us stay within our budget without compromising on any of the special details that were important to us. Tom & I contracted with Jon and his team to do a kitchen remodel as well as other first floor updates in 2015. It has been just over a year now since our project was completed. We could not be happier with the final outcome. This was the first time we had embarked on a major remodeling project so we had a lot of questions about the process. Jon did a good job of taking the time to explain how, when and why things had to be done. He collaborated well with our designers. He had tremendous attention to detail. We always felt comfortable with Jon and his team in our home. They were polite and respectful. We have no regrets about our project and hope to work with Jon again in 2017.

We had the opportunity and pleasure of working with Jon and his team from Jon Marty’s Custom Carpentry. We had seen a number of Jon’s homes during the Parade of Homes the past few years and knew when we were ready to build that he would be our choice. Jon worked with us on the design of our dream home to help accommodate the changes we wanted with our existing plan. Jon made very beneficial recommendations to help us realize the changes we wanted to see. Once the building process started, Jon was on site daily working with his crew and his
sub-contractors. We were amazed at how clean the job site was kept on a daily basis. Jon is a very creative and a talented builder. We were not satisfied with the options (choices) we had for some cabinets in our recreation room area and all we had to do was show Jon pictures of what we were thinking and he built them! Jon also suggested items we should consider to enhance our interior theme and found the resources to make those happen. Jon’s portfolio of subcontractors was exceptional. In our opinion, all were talented as if they were artists in their trade. We allowed them to be creative and put their personal touch in our home. We could not be happier and more satisfied. To add to that, most of Jon’s folks are local which was important to us. Jon was very professional and up front with us. He would keep us informed as to where we were in our budget and had no surprises through the entire process. We will always be grateful to Jon and his team for the beautiful home he built for us. We have and will continue to recommend Jon for your building or remodeling project. In our opinion, you will not have a better experience!
We decided to use Jon Marty after failed attempts to get other contractors to see our vision of our basement remodel. Jon came in with his creativity and his amazing crew and helped us bring our vision to a reality. We used a ton of colors to create a very warm feeling for our basement and the painters he used were top notch. Jon has a “CAN DO” attitude and it shows in his craftsmanship and creativity! Four years ago I had Jon Marty build my home. It was the best decision I ever made, he was great to work with, he showed up when he said he would and met all the deadlines we had set. This is the 3rd house I have built and was the general contractor myself. Jon worked very well with the other contractors on the job that I had hired and was very helpful if I had questions. When the job was finished there were no additional costs added on to the original price (which happens very often). Jon also did work on a house that I purchased and flipped. Again Jon was very professional and his work is impeccable. Jon I will be calling you when I am ready to build the cabin.
When Jon Marty and his crew were contracted to do an extensive remodeling for us, I had not worked with them before, but I trusted them, them seemed very capable. I was not disappointed in the least. I found Jon and his men to be honest, trustworthy, reliable, hard working and dedicated to quality work from start to finish. Quality work takes time and professionalism - Jon Marty and his staff provide that in large doses, I recommend them very highly because of this and would certainly not hesitate to use them again on future projects.
